Each of our instructors has been LMA Certified and has a minimum of 22 years of experience studying Ninjutsu and Bujinkan Budo. The nature of personal-protection and Complete Martial Arts has enabled us to teach (and continue offering) classes for the blind, deaf, mute, students in wheelchairs, children with ADD, Autism, Aspergers Syndrome, and more. Life is not a spectator sport for anyone.

Chuck Cory holds numerous awards, is listed in Who’s Who, and continues to travel worldwide for training and teaching. With over 45+ years of Martial Arts experience, he holds Black Belts in over 10 Martial Arts (instructor rank in 4). Mr. Cory has taught the ‘Art of Safety’ at a federal level, military level, college level, and to women & children. His school in Irvine, CA. continues to teach classes for the blind, deaf, injured, mute, students in wheelchairs, children with autism, ADD, Aspergers Syndrome and more. Having been featured internationally on the History Channel, he continues to teach physical, psychological & emotional self-defense through Bujinkan Budo.

Cathy Lewis, Instructor

Cathy was born in the year of the fire monkey. Having been involved in martial arts for over 30 years, she began her training in Kung Fu San Soo, and is now a Jugodan entering her 25th year with the Bujinkan. She has traveled nationally and internationally to taikai since 1991, and continues to study in japan bi-annually under the auspices of the Bujinkan’s soke, Dr. Massaki Hatsumi. While in Japan, she attends additional classes, studying with other Shihan such as Oguri Sensei, Senou Sensei, Noguchi Sensei, Shiraishi Sensei, and Nagato Sensei.

Ms. Lewis is certified in the National Security Alliance for Child Safety and is a licensed instructor in the CDT/TFL system; she incorporates this in women’s self-protection courses, sharing her knowledge and encouraging everyone to further develop their awareness and intuition, which is crucial to one’s safety. With the personal protection tool of SafetyHands, it is her goal to travel more extensively teaching self protection, advocating the mental attitude of self reliance and Always Aware.
With a deep understanding that the Bujinkan system is a life changing art which is very influential to all aspects of our lives, she continues to further her own training in Japan each year.

Michael Roberts

Michael was born in the year of the Boar and has been training at Bujinkan Irvine since 2003. Before joining the service in 2002 he spent three years working in the Irvine Police Department, working with various programs including McGruff and the D.A.R.E program. He also spent two years working with the mentally and physically disabled children in the Irvine Unified School District.

Michael has since provided personal, physical and cyber security.

Michael holds a Masters degree in Oriental Medicine and completed internships at UCLA and the Disney Arthur Ashe Cancer center.
